For those who do not know how to open chapterized m4b. file to see the chapters, here are some suggestions:
1. On a PC, try downloading VLC player, QuickTime Player, or iTunes. They are all free and easily found on google. If you’re a movie-lover, I recommend VLC Player, and if you’re a music-lover, iTunes is recommended.
- With VLC player, open the m4b. file with the program. Once it starts playing, click the tab ‘Playback’ at the top left, then move the pointer to ‘Chapter’, and you’ll be able to see the chapters.
- With iTunes, first you should drag the m4b. file into the program. Once it’s in the ‘Audiobooks’ menu, double click to play it. You then will see a ‘Chapters’ tab appearing on the menu tab at the top.
- With QuickTime Player, open the m4b. file with the program. You should be able to see the chapters right away on the right.
2. On Apple devices, it should be nearly the same with using iTunes. Once you transfer the m4b. file from your PC to your devices through iTunes, the rest should be simple.
3. On Android devices, try Smart Audiobook Player, Listen Audiobook Player, or Mort Audio Player. I never use these apps, so I’m not certain about this, but I’ve heard highly of them.
*** If you still cannot open the m4b. files, then I suggest looking for another torrent with the regular mp3. files or any format you can use. Converting these files are not recommended, because they will lose the chapters. M4B. format purpose is mainly for the chapterized audiobooks, so without the chapters, it’s easier to find another torrent.

Firstly, thx for sharing.
Before I d/l this, is this the same source as most of the SH books here and other sites, or are they new rips done by yourself??? If they are the same rips as previous uploads then I won’t need to d/l this, but thx for sharing this for ppl that have not had the privilege to here these great stories yet.

I know it has been a while since this was uploaded, but I have only now gotten around to listen. I came back to comment just because of how much I am enjoying it! Timson has now been elected as my favorite Holmes narrator ever. Thank you so much for sharing, I will seed this for life!

I was able to convert the m4b-files to another format (mp3) with foobar2000 and kept the chapters by converting the included QuickTime style chapters to Nero style chapters following the steps described here: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,85453.msg796059.html#msg796059 - that worked like a charm and as far as I can tell, the conversion was really appended to the source files, so the original chapter info is still intact. (Came across this other possible solution, but haven’t tried it yet: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,74992.0.html)
As to the audiobooks themselves: I can only concur that Timson is my favorite Holmes reader by far (and I’ve tried quite a few professional and amateur ones) - the classical music enhances this Version as well. This is the definite Holmes collection to me.
Let me extend my sincerest gratitude to the uploader/rippers for enabling me to listen to these stories in this great version. Thanks!

It pains me to say that there is a problem with at least one file: SH9 - The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes I-II.m4b is missing a part of “The Adventure of the Illustrious Client” (the skip occurs at 5:40:19) and a bit later on there has been inserted (the whole or a considerable part of) “The Masque of Anarchy” by Percy Shelly (unknown reader). This insertion is at 5:53:13 to 6:10:53.
I wonder why this was done. Shame, really. Well, back to Librivox I guess (David Clarke hasn’t read it so far, damn).
Please bear in mind I have not heard everything and I’m not trusting this release any longer. A large portion of this might be usable, refer to my previous comment.
